The project
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
The relevant presence in the European Union countries of Third Countries Nationals has required an increasing commitment over the years in planning and implementing policies and practices aimed at promoting an open and inclusive society. Promoting the acquisition of
communication skills in the languages of the host countries is a key element in achieving this
goal. One of the main challenges in second-language acquisition is to offer teaching methods that respond to the needs, characteristics and real interests of learners.
To cope with these complexities, in many contexts linguistic facilitators are implementing strategies that often have a high degree of innovation but are not codified and systematized. In this context, the project aims at promoting a strategic partnership between organizations of four different European Union countries, with experience in L2 training for adults, in order to identify and test innovative methodologies and approaches in the L2 teaching.
General objective: promoting the sociolinguistic inclusion of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in the territories where they live and work and to raise the learning levels of adult migrants in 4 countries of the European Union.
Specific objectives:
● To develop suitable and quality tools for L2 teaching to adult migrants through the design and testing of innovative teaching practices.
● To improve the competencies and skills of teachers and adult trainers in the field of L2 education.
The priorities of the project are:
● Horizontal Priority: Inclusion and diversity in all fields of education, training, youth and sport.
● Field specific priority: Improving the competences of educators and other adult education staff.
● Field specific priority: Improving the availability of high quality learning opportunities for adults.
Topics addressed by the project:
● New learning and teaching methods and approaches.
● Teaching and learning of foreign languages.
